Our process in 5 steps

Initial contact
Tell us about your project by phone, email or through our online form. We respond within 48 hours with an initial assessment of feasibility and timeline.

Editorial proposal
We prepare a detailed proposal covering the editorial angle, anticipated sources, timeline, deliverables and budget. A 30% deposit confirms the project. Free cancellation up to 14 days before the start date.

Research and production
Our team investigates, films or writes. You receive regular progress updates. The work is carried out with full editorial independence: we report the facts, not what is convenient.

Revisions and delivery
Two rounds of revisions are included with every project. We deliver in the agreed formats (text, video, audio) and ensure editorial compliance before publication.

Secure archiving
All source files, raw footage and research documents are kept for 36 months in our secure archive. Full rights are transferred to you upon receipt of final payment.
An independent bureau, four professionals
Mymspgoat was founded in 2019 by Marc-Andre Tremblay, an investigative journalist with more than fifteen years of experience in Canadian media. Our 85 m2 office, located in the heart of Ottawa just steps from Parliament Hill, houses a dedicated 12 m2 edit suite and an acoustically treated recording space.
Our team brings together Sarah Mitchell, Managing Editor; David Lavoie, documentary videographer; and Priya Sharma, media consultant. We share a conviction: independent journalism is a public service, not a luxury product. Every project receives the same rigour, whether it is an 800-word opinion piece or a months-long documentary.

How much does an investigation cost?
Our investigations start at 2,800 CAD (before HST) for a short-form piece taking 1 to 2 weeks. The final price depends on complexity, the number of sources and the duration of the work. Every project receives a custom quote. See detailed rates.
Who owns the copyright on the finished work?
Full copyright transfers to you upon receipt of final payment, unless otherwise specified in the contract. During production, Mymspgoat retains authorship rights. The details are set out in our terms and conditions.
How quickly do you respond to inquiries?
We respond to every inquiry within 48 business hours. For time-sensitive projects, call us directly at (613) 555-0184.
Do you work in both English and French?
We do. Our team is fully bilingual and we produce content in English and French to the same editorial standard. Our Managing Editor, Sarah Mitchell, is a native English speaker, and our founder Marc-Andre Tremblay has reported in both languages throughout his career.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation is free up to 14 days before the agreed start date. After that, a kill fee of 50% of the contracted amount applies. In the first case, the 30% deposit is refunded in full. See our terms and conditions for details.
